Materials:
•Ribbon Connections Pure Silk Satin Ribbons
#2000 Double Face Silk Satin Ribbon
•1" (24mm) #39 Off White, 1 yard
•5/8" (15mm) #80 Blue, 2-1/4 yards
•5/8" (15mm) #31 Light Sage, 1-1/3 yards
•1/4" (6mm) #3 Pale Pink, 1-1/4 yards
Off White embroidery floss; Cream sewing thread; 1/2" yarn of 7mm Light Green silk embroidery ribbon; Two 3-1/4" cardboard circles; One 4-1/2" circle and an 11-1/4" x 2-1/2" strip of Light Blue satin fabric; Small amount of polyester stuffing; One 7mm Green bead; Glue
Instructions:

1. With right sides facing, sew ends of fabric strip together with a 1/2" seam allowance to form a circle. Press seam open, turn to right side. Glue one edge of the fabric circle to one of the cardboard circles to form a cup. Fill cup with stuffing. Hand gather the remaining fabric edge, pull stitches tight and secure thread to form pincushion.

2. Cover remaining cardboard circle with fabric circle. Flute 7mm ribbon and glue it around the edge of the covered circle on the wrong side. Glue circle to the bottom of the pincushion, wrong sides facing.

3. Cut two 36" strands of Blue ribbon. Cut one 36" piece of Sage ribbon. Use floss to whipstitch the selvages of the Blue ribbons together. Whipstitch the Sage ribbon to one side of a Blue ribbon. Press, seam ends together to form a circle.

4. Hand gather outer selvage of Sage ribbon. Pull gathers to fit around bottom of pincushion above fluting. Stitch gathered edge to pincushion. Hand gather top edge of Blue ribbon, pull gathers tightly to fit pincushion, stitch edge to fabric at top.

5. Make 11 dahlia petals with White ribbon. Hand gather petals together across bottom. Pull stitches as tightly as possible, join ends to form a circle. Trim seam to 1/4". Glue flower to top of pincushion.

6. Make two gathered leaves with Sage ribbon. Glue leaves under flower as desired.

7. Gather edge of remaining Blue ribbon into a circle. Glue to top of pincushion. Glue or sew a bead in center of the circle.
